Carima, Korea’s first 3D printer manufacturer, provides high-quality 3D printing total solutions. This reference aims to demonstrate the excellence of Carima’s Figure Gray Resin through a collaboration with a renowned figure modeling artist.
Famous in the figure modeling industry, JS-ALMIGHTY has been using resin 3D printing for projects that require intricate details and high-quality finishing. However, most models required supports during printing, and removing these supports often resulted in surface damage and scratches, leading to additional effort. The surface precision also fell short of expectations. Carima, aware of these challenges, provided JS-ALMIGHTY with their newly released Figure Gray Resin, which is optimized for figure 3D printing. JS-ALMIGHTY used his own designed figure model for testing the resin.
1. Products Used
- 3D Printer Model: Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K
- Resin Used: Carima Figure Gray
2. Printing Process and Results
2-1. Design and Preparation
JS-ALMIGHTY designed a highly detailed 3D model of the protagonist from the famous Japanese animation Princess Mononoke to test the surface smoothness, high precision, and monochromatic sculpture-like appearance of Carima Figure Gray Resin. After completing the modeling, he set the initial parameters for printing with the Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K printer using Carima Figure Gray Resin.
2-2. Printing Process
- The printing process was conducted with a layer height of 0.05mm, bed exposure time of 40 seconds, and normal layer exposure time of 3.65 seconds on the Sonic Mega 8K. The resin’s viscosity was ideal, resulting in excellent layer adhesion.
- The total printing time was about 14 hours (conducted with high-speed printing),and the post-printing cleaning and curing processes went smoothly.

2-3. Printing Results
- JS-ALMIGHTY expressed great satisfaction with the detail and surface quality of the printed figure.
- The Figure Gray Resin captured fine details well, and the support removal was easy, with the final product maintaining the integrity of the original design without distortion.
- Even with a high lift/retraction speed on the build plate to reduce rest time, the print completed without issues like layer separation.
- JS-ALMIGHTY particularly appreciated the resin’s strength and surface finish.

3. Feedback
JS-ALMIGHTY's Feedback:
"Carima’s Figure Gray Resin perfectly reproduced every detail I wanted. It’s easier to use and delivers superior print quality compared to other resins I’ve used. The support material was easy to remove by hand without damaging the print, and the areas where the supports touched the model came out smooth without bumps. I was especially impressed by how glossy and smooth the surface was, compared to other resins I’ve tried. I plan to continue using Carima’s resin in the future."
4. Conclusion
This collaboration once again proved the exceptional performance and quality of Carima’s Figure Gray Resin, optimized for figure 3D printing. Carima will continue to meet customer demands with high-quality products.
